Lyveden-House & Lodge
The Lodge was built by Sir Thomas Tresham in 1595 but never completed. The Elizabethan House is being restored by the National Trust & is being used as the cafe.

Polesden Lacey was the weekend party house of Margaret Greville. She was a powerful socialite in the early 1900's & she entertained film stars,aristocrats & the royal family. The queen mother was a regular guest for afternoon tea.

Hatchlands House & Park, Surrey NT
Hatchlands House is leased from the National Trust by the Cobbe family to house their collection of paintings & musical instruments. As it is a private collection photographs were not permitted but the collections are well worth seeing.

Cragside Northumberland.NT
Cragside was the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity.
